ICAI's New Code of Ethics Gives Chartered Accountants a Fresh Opportunity



The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has introduced a significant reform through its revised Code of Ethics, effective from the current financial year. The updated framework provides Chartered Accountants and CA firms greater flexibility in advertising their professional services and creating informative websites.

Earlier, the profession was bound by stringent restrictions relating to write-ups, font sizes, photographs, and promotional content. These limitations often made it difficult for competent professionals to showcase their expertise, specialization, and achievements in an increasingly competitive business environment.

The revised guidelines acknowledge the realities of the modern marketplace. By allowing greater visibility and professional branding, ICAI has empowered CAs to communicate their capabilities more effectively, attract quality assignments, and build stronger professional identities.

Another encouraging development is ICAI's consideration of permitting Chartered Accountants to provide certain non-assurance services, such as consultancy, to audit clients under specified safeguards. If implemented thoughtfully, this could create additional value for clients while maintaining professional independence and ethical standards.

This reform is both practical and timely. For years, Chartered Accountants faced marketing restrictions that were far stricter than those applicable to lawyers, consultants, management advisors, and other professional service providers. The revised approach helps create a more level playing field while preserving the dignity and credibility of the profession.

The future of the profession belongs to those who combine technical excellence with effective communication. ICAI's reforms are a positive step toward making the CA profession more visible, competitive, and relevant in the digital age.

GSTN ने E-Way Bill के 2 बड़े बदलावों की Deadline बढ़ाई – अब 1 अगस्त 2026 से होंगे लागू GSTN ने पहले घोषणा की थी कि 15 जून 2026 से E-Way Bill System में 2 महत्वपूर्ण बदलाव लागू किए जाएंगे: ✅ Bill-To / Ship-To Transactions में "Ship To GSTIN" भरना Mandatory होगा। ✅ Voluntary Closure of E-Way Bill की नई सुविधा शुरू की जाएगी। लेकिन व्यापारियों, GSPs, ERP Providers और Industry Associations की ओर से representations प्राप्त हुए, जिनमें बताया गया कि ERP Software Updates, API Integration, Testing और Master Data Updation के लिए अतिरिक्त समय की आवश्यकता है। इसी को ध्यान में रखते हुए GSTN ने इन दोनों सुविधाओं की implementation date को आगे बढ़ाने का निर्णय लिया है। अब Mandatory "Ship To GSTIN" और Voluntary Closure of E-Way Bill की सुविधाएँ 15 जून 2026 की बजाय 01 अगस्त 2026 से लागू होंगी। GSTN ने सभी Taxpayers, GSPs, ERP Providers एवं अन्य Stakeholders को सलाह दी है कि वे नई implementation date से पहले अपने Systems, ERP Software, APIs और Operational Processes को पूरी तरह त...
